Perpetually Employed.
“I’m busy,” he yelled and persisted with life
“I’m busy,” he boasted, opening his emails proudly
“I’m busy,” he shouted as his second line rang
“I’m busy,” he exclaimed as if others cared.
“I’m busy,” she told her child, head immersed into her phone
“I’m busy,” her mantra to get into the zone
“I’m busy,” she bragged, the promotion was in sight
“I’m busy,” she showed, as if others cared.
I’m free to see the world but too much time has passed.
I’m free to spend time with my children but busy they are.
I’m free to live, maybe next time.
If only I had not been too busy for life.
